Hailing from Brown County, Texas Lindsay Rose Sledge is currently a stay at home mother and creative writing student. She writes poetry, as well as non-fiction.  Her subject matter ranges from motherhood, her messy faith, growing up in a small Texas town, special needs parenting and coming to terms with the fact her life doesn’t look like what she imagined.  In her mind Mary Karr and Anne Lamott are her wise, witty best friends. Her work has appeared in Kindred Magazine as well as Saint Mary of the Woods Literary Journal.  She can’t list a fancy school under her credentials, but her first poem was proudly displaced on the black board by her second grade teacher and she’s been writing ever since.  She thinks that out to count for something. My blog title Cactus Tree Heart is taken from my favorite Joni Mitchell Song, “Cactus Tree.”
